Job summary

WSP USA in Baltimore, MD seeks a Field Services Technician to support pavement condition assessments and testing projects. You will collect data, operate profilers and FWD equipment, and assist engineering teams with field investigations.

The role requires outdoor work, travel readiness, and strong data quality focus. You will maintain equipment logs, perform QA/QC, and ensure safety in active roadway environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of pavement distress data collection or related field work.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience outdoors in roadway environments.
• Familiarity with pavement data collection methods and roadway inspection practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel overnight for projects.

Responsibilities

• Collect pavement distress data on highways and local roads.
• Operate pavement testing equipment (profilers, FWD, laser systems, GPS).
• Perform QA/QC on collected data and document roadway characteristics.
• Maintain field documentation and equipment logs.
• Assist with scheduling, logistics, and field preparation.
• Follow safety procedures in active roadway environments.
