Job summary

Solomon Page Fashion & Beauty's client, a girls' dress brand, is seeking a skilled Patternmaker to join the design and production team in New York. You will create patterns on paper from design sketches and technical specs, ensuring precise fit and construction for children's wear.

Collaborating with design and sample room teams, you will modify and finalize patterns based on fit sessions and feedback, maintain the pattern library, and ensure consistent grading across size ranges.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of patternmaking in children's apparel.
• Understanding of children's sizing and safety considerations.
• Strong garment construction, fit standards, and grading knowledge.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Our client, a Girls better dress brand, is seeking a skilled Patternmaker to join their creative and production team. Must have an eye for detail and a passion for precision and fit as all patterns are created on paper. This is a 5 day in office work environment with summer Friday schedule. The salary range for this role is $70-80,000.

Responsibilities

• Create first patterns from design sketches and technical specs.
• Interpret designer's vision while ensuring functionality and comfort for children’s wear.
• Modify and finalize patterns based on fit sessions and feedback.
• Work closely with design and sample room teams to ensure accurate construction and fit.
• Maintain pattern library and ensure consistent grading across size ranges.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in patternmaking, ideally in children's apparel.
• Understanding of children’s sizing and safety considerations in garment design.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, and grading.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail with an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in woven and/or knit dresses for toddlers to preteens is preferred.
