Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is hiring for a swing shift position in Portland, OR to prepare patterns, repair wax cores, and clean and serialize wax components. The role requires reading techcards, measuring with gauges, and using wax materials and fixtures while maintaining dimensional accuracy and adhering to safety rules.

The job involves lifting up to 125 pounds, operating hand tools, and training new staff as needed. Training is provided on the job and PPE is required for all tasks.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience to fully perform the duties of a Wax Cleaner or Wax Assembler.
• Working knowledge of cleaning techniques, methods, materials and tools and ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devises and fixtures.
• Ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 30–50 lbs and up to 125 lbs.
• Ability to work in conditions with noise, fumes, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Pattern finishing: assemble pattern components and make dimensional alterations.
• Repair/restoration: fix damaged patterns and restore dimensions.
• Cleaning: remove flash, patch negatives, ensure surface quality.
• Serialization: apply serial numbers to patterns per techcards.
• Safety: follow safety rules and operate equipment safely.
