Job summary

Franklin Park Public Library District is seeking a Part-time Patron Services Clerk. The successful candidate will enjoy interacting with people of all ages, provide excellent customer service, and be comfortable with technology.

Work both collaboratively and independently to support library services. Responsibilities include circulation tasks, holds management, account maintenance, shelving, and shelf reading, with opportunities to participate in community outreach and programming.

Qualifications

• High school coursework is required.
• Library or customer service experience desired.
• Ability to lift items up to 20 pounds.
• Spanish or Polish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Patron Services team in delivering high-quality service to the Franklin Park community.
• Handle daily circulation tasks including checkouts, holds, and patron account maintenance; shelving and shelf reading as needed.
• Participate in library-wide programming and community outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supports the Patron Services team in their efforts to provide the highest quality of service to the Franklin Park community
• Responsible for daily collection maintenance and circulation tasks, including, but not limited to checkouts, holds management, patron account creation and maintenance, shelving, and shelf reading
• Participates in library-wide programming initiatives and community outreach
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements: Some high school coursework. Relevant library or customer service experience desired. Ability to lift library items up to 20 pounds. Fluency in Spanish or Polish languages a plus.
