City of Abilene Library services seeks a Library Assistant to support patrons with registering for library cards and using the self-check system. You will assist with the circulation desk, input patron data, and help patrons access digital resources and online catalogs.

Qualifications

• Library policies, procedures, systems including the Dewey Decimal System.
• Bibliographic database knowledge and related search procedures.
• Working knowledge of library collections (circulation and reference).
• MS-Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google Suite.
• Internet search capability and techniques.

Responsabilités

• Serves at the circulation desk checking in and checking out library materials, registering patrons, collecting overdue fines, and assisting patrons with information.
