City of Abilene Public Library is seeking a customer service associate to assist patrons with registering for library cards, using the self-check system, and answering questions about accounts. You will work with the circulation team to manage flow, inventory, and displays; provide Readers Advisory, help with online catalog and digital resources, and perform data entry.

Requires strong customer service, basic computer skills, high school diploma; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; and availability

Qualifications

• Public experience and familiarity with basic library procedures preferred.
• Ability to use Dewey Decimal system and catalog search tools.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Check in/out library materials and register patrons.
• Assist patrons with the self-check system and online resources.
• Input patron and materials data into the system.
• Shelve materials and maintain neat displays.
• Provide Readers Advisory and help with catalog and digital resources.
• Travel between work sites for meetings and training.
