Job summary

Clayton County Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to support patrons at the Headquarters Library Information Desk. You will help users access electronic resources, locate materials, and assist with circulation-related tasks.

The role emphasizes customer service in a public setting, with duties including information assistance, resource navigation, and registration for library services. Prior library experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two years of college strongly preferred.
• Experience working with the public in a fast paced environment; library experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help patrons use online resources (GALILEO/Internet) and locate information.
• Assist with word processing, selecting materials, and locating books and periodicals.
• Guide users in Catalog/search systems and interlibrary loan processes.
• Assist with circulation tasks, library cards, fines, holds, and program registrations.

Education
