Gettysburg College is seeking a full time Patrol Sergeant to join Campus Safety as a shift leader. You will supervise officers in the field and coordinate with the Lieutenant on broader department operations.

This role supports officer development, including performance appraisals, coaching, and training, and requires certification for Taser, OC spray, baton, and handcuffs. A strong commitment to integrity and community relations is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a safety/security officer or similar role preferred; college education may substitute.
• Campus setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a shift of Campus Safety officers and act as shift leader.
• Plan, staff, organize, and direct daily shift operations.
• Provide performance appraisals, coaching, discipline, and training.
