The position requires Kansas certification, leadership experience, and the ability to respond to emergencies. A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of Kansas criminal statutes and applicable federal laws.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, develop, and evaluate employees.
• Ability to analyze situations and make sound decisions during emergencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and review reports accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and law enforcement records management systems.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Campus Police Officers and Security Officers; oversee daily patrol operations.
• Patrol college grounds and buildings as required and enforce state statutes.
• Maintain campus safety and support college mission through leadership.
• Prepare and review incident reports, vehicle accidents, and related documents.
• Interact professionally with students, staff, and community partners.
• Respond to emergencies and provide guidance to staff during incidents.
