Job summary

City of Whitewater seeks an entry level Patrol Officer to patrol the City, respond to incidents, enforce laws, and protect life and property. The role involves patrolling by car, bicycle, or on foot, handling emergencies, and performing related duties under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 college credits from an accredited college, OR must have graduated from a Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy by date of hire.
• If academy completed and no 60 college credits, must obtain 60 credits within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas by car, bicycle, or on foot; respond to calls and enforce laws.
• Investigate criminal activity and collect evidence; prepare reports and tickets as needed.
• Conduct traffic enforcement and participate in field training and supervision as assigned.
• Assist in emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate with other agencies.
