Aitkin County seeks a dedicated deputy to patrol and protect life and property across the county, enforce laws, escort prisoners, and conduct routine investigations. You will serve warrants, assist with court orders, and coordinate with local agencies as needed.

Applicants must meet Minnesota POST requirements, hold a valid driver's license, and be able to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, with a strong focus on public safety and professionalism.

Qualifikationen

• Licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Minnesota P.O.S.T. Board, which includes two years post-secondary education or more; and continues to receive education credits to be licensed.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license required. Employment reference checks, a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, drug test,and psychological evaluation will be performed as part of the pre-employment process.
• Must be First Aid, CPR/AED certified or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Aufgaben

• Patrols the county to protect and preserve law and order, enforce laws, and ensure public safety.
• Answer calls involving felonies, disturbances, accidents, and emergencies; conduct preliminary investigations and gather evidence.
• Administer first aid, transport prisoners, and assist in complex investigations and court preparations.
• Enforce traffic laws, serve warrants and court orders, and document patrol activities for judicial proceedings.
• Provide emergency response and support to fire and other law enforcement agencies.
