Job summary

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking a Patient Travel Coordinator to arrange patient travel for care in Anchorage and beyond. The role supports coordinating air/ground transport, lodging, and meals while ensuring Medicaid travel compliance.

The position requires travel coordination experience, strong customer service, and knowledge of health care programs; teamwork and communication are essential in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service concepts and practice.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Act and HIPAA Privacy Rule.
• Knowledge of state, federal and tribal health care programs.
• Knowledge of insurance financing and Medicaid/Medicare.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate travel arrangements for patients referred for medical care.
• Determine medically necessary travel and ensure appointments, lodging, and transport.
• Collaborate with teams and outside agencies to follow Travel Rules and Regulations.
• Honor patient travel preferences and inform about available services.
• Coordinate travel within Medicaid Prior Authorization parameters.
• Prepare invoices and reconcile purchases and reimbursements.
