Job summary

Memorial Health System in Marietta, OH is seeking a Transporter to move patients between departments, to taxis or vehicles, and to treatment areas, ensuring comfort and timely care.

You will handle equipment and specimens, transport deceased patients per protocol, and round on departments as needed. A.I.D.E.T. is used in patient interactions, with strict adherence to safety and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent training and/or experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Student Transporter: Enrolled in college or adult technical training for the current/next semester required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by assisting patients in and out of taxis, ambulances, cars, and helicopters; moves them to treatment areas and discharge vehicles.
• Comforts patients and families with support, punctuality, and cultural sensitivity.
• Transports equipment and supplies to assigned care areas; handles specimens per safety rules.
• Transports deceased patients following protocols to the morgue; rounds on departments when not transporting.
• Uses A.I.D.E.T. with all patient interactions; maintains compliance with RQI.
• Performs other duties as needed.
