Job summary

Memorial Health System in Marietta, OH seeks a Patient Transporter to ensure safe, timely movement of patients between departments, to vehicles upon discharge, and to and from treatment areas. You will assist patients in and out of taxis, ambulances, and other conveyances, using proper body mechanics and patient-centered communication.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent training/experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write and do math as demonstrated by a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients between hospital departments, taxis, ambulances, cars and helicopters.
• Assists patients in and out of beds and vehicles and moves them to treatment areas.
• Transports equipment and supplies to assigned areas and delivers to labs when needed.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory, following safety and exposure precautions.
• Transports deceased patients per protocol and maintains confidentiality and respect.
