Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a dedicated transport team member to move patients and materials across the campus. You will ensure safe, efficient transport with constant collaboration with nurses, staff, and dispatchers.

A strong customer-service mindset and reliable communication are essential. Responsibilities include standing/walking long distances, handling patient equipment, and adhering to isolation protocols and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Must communicate effectively in a professional and respectful manner during high-stress situations.
• Basic computer skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, visitors and patient-related items across Mayo Clinic campus in a safe and efficient manner.
• Interact frequently with nurses, radiology staff, desk staff, door attendants and others.
• Input transport requests via computers and coordinate with dispatch staff by telephone.
• Stand and/or walk 10-12 miles per 8-hour shift; assist patients in wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Disinfect equipment after each patient use and maintain daily tasks such as wheelchair roundups.
