Trinity Health Brighton in Michigan is seeking a Hospital Transporter to move patients safely between care areas and diagnostic/testing sites. This full-time role requires clear communication with patients, families, and nurses, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include transporting stable patients using transfer devices, restocking equipment, replacing oxygen tanks, and maintaining clean transport gear.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED recommended.
• Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Responsabilités

• Transport stable, non-monitored patients from patient care areas to and from diagnostic/testing areas (e.g., CT, X-ray, Angio, Hemo) and to inpatient units for admissions.
• Effectively communicate with patients, family, visitors, and direct care providers.
• Speak with the RN or Healthcare Provider prior to transport and when patient returns to the unit.
• Assist patients with restroom needs as necessary.
• Safely transfer patients using transfer devices such as a patient sling, slide board, or other approved devices.
• Clean transport equipment between patients.
• Locate and redistribute equipment (stretchers, wheelchairs, Airpal, Stryker Glides, oxygen, etc.).
• Replace oxygen tanks as needed (less than 500 psi).
• Provide directions to families and visitors.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Attend departmental meetings and continuing education activities.
