Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is recommended.
• No healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Transport stable, non-monitored patients between care areas and diagnostic/test locations (CT, X-ray, Angio, Hemo) and inpatient units.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and direct care providers.
• Speak with the RN or Healthcare Provider prior to transport and after patient returns to the unit.
• Assist patients with restroom needs as necessary.
• Safely transfer patients using transfer devices (e.g., patient sling, slide board).
• Clean transport equipment between patients.
• Move equipment such as stretchers, wheelchairs, oxygen, and related gear as needed.
• Replace oxygen tanks as needed (less than 500 psi).
• Provide directions to families/visitors.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Attend departmental meetings and continuing education activities.
