Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a patient transporter for a part-time 4-hour weekly schedule. You will transport patients and equipment between departments, use safe body mechanics, and track movements in Epic.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and up to two years of customer service experience. A BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is preferred; physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and equipment to and from departments, using safe body mechanics.
• Monitors and maintains PAR levels for equipment across locations.
• Uses Epic to track patient location and equipment movement within the facility.

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center. Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to to track equipment movement throughout the facility.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
