Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS through American Heart Association (or within 90 days of employment).
• Preferred: 1 year experience with patient transport handling.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients as assigned.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
• Ensure safe transport equipment and patient comfort.
• Disinfect equipment between transports.
• Assist patients onto transport equipment and arrange support as needed.
• Maintain clean and functional transport equipment; report maintenance needs.
• Notify nursing/ancillary staff on patient arrival/departure.
• Handle patient documents related to transport.
• Monitor for any adverse patient symptoms during transport.
• Follow infection control precautions and PPE guidelines.
• Move and care for transport equipment for patient movement.
