The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Patient Transporter/Lift Technician to support safe, timely movement of patients and related items within the MUSC campus. You will perform complex lifts/transfers and educate patients and families on transfer techniques for post-hospital care.

Under general supervision, you will report to the Patient Transport Supervisor and help ensure quality patient care with diligent attention to safety, courtesy, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital

Competenze

• Education: High School Degree or Equivalent.
• Work Experience: 0–6 months, dependent on position.
• State licensure and/or professional certification requirements depend on position.

Job Description Summary

The Patient Transporter/Lift Technician reports to the Patient Transport Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Patient Transporter/Lift Technician assists with the transportation of patients, laboratory specimens, medications, and other ancillary items to promote quality patient care. This role performs complex patient lifts/transfers, and provides patient and family education regarding transfer techniques to be utilized in the post-hospital setting as appropriate.

Job Description

The Patient Transporter reports to the Patient Transport Supervisor. Under general supervision, the Patient Transporter assists with the hospital based transportation of patients within the MUSC campus. This role provides safe and timely transportation for patients throughout the organization.
