Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Patient Transporter/Lift Technician to support hospital-based transport across the MUSC campus. You will ensure safe and timely movement of patients, specimens and other items, under supervision, and collaborate with the Patient Transport Coordinator to uphold quality patient care.

Position involves complex lifts/transfers, with responsibilities including education for transfer techniques for post-hospital care as appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• 0-6 months of work experience expected depending on position.
• State licensure and/or professional certification may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hospital-based transportation of patients, specimens, medications and other items to support patient care.
• Perform safe patient lifts/transfers as needed.
• Provide patient and family education on transfer techniques for post-hospital care.

Job Description

The Patient Transporter reports to the Patient Transport Supervisor. Under general supervision, the Patient Transporter assists with the hospital based transportation of patients within the MUSC campus. This role provides safe and timely transportation for patients throughout the organization.
