Job Summary

Patient Transporter: Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and related items within the hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and ensuring patient safety.
• Use wheelchairs and other equipment appropriately for patient transport.
• Transport patients of all age groups competently.
• Ensure timely and accurate transport using proper equipment.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff and dispatch.
• Ensure patient comfort and modesty, offer blankets, and avoid transporting patients in severe pain.
• Report signs of distress or equipment issues immediately.
• Maintain and report on equipment condition.
• Follow all regulatory standards, including HIPAA and JCAHO.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
