• We are hiring immediately for full-time PATIENT TRANSPORTER positions.
• Address: Columbia St Mary's Hospital - 2301 North Lake Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53211. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time schedule. 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, days may vary. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: No previous experience required.
• Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

Job Summary

Patient Transporter

Summary: Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport patients safely, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and the patient.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock for patient transport.
• Demonstrate competency across all age groups.
• Ensure the safe and timely transport of patients using proper equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians, and reception.
• Ensure patient comfort, modesty, and appropriate conversation; avoid transporting patients in severe pain.
• Alert nursing staff to signs of distress or equipment issues.
• Maintain and report on equipment needing repairs.
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
• Follow confidentiality and patient rights policies per HIPAA.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
