Job summary

Ascension is seeking team members to transport patients, specimens, and equipment throughout our Nashville area facilities. You will assist patients in transferring between wheelchairs, stretchers, and vehicles, and help staff by delivering needed supplies and paperwork.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of related experience, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire unless already held.
• High school diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.
• Professional licensure can substitute education/experience when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility.
• Move patients using wheelchairs, stretchers or beds as directed.
• Assist patients entering and exiting vehicles or transfer between surfaces.
• Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department.
• Greet and provide information and directions to patients and visitors.

Job Description

• Schedule: Day Shift l Part-time

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Transport patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility.


• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.


• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.


• Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department. May assist staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.


• Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.


• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
