Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking a Patient Transporter to greet and move patients and to assist clinical staff across departments. You will transport patients, lift and reposition patients safely, and help with equipment and specimens as needed.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork with clinical staff, and adherence to safety protocols. Eligible candidates will join a large healthcare system offering diverse benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Physical ability to lift/move patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• BLS certification and CPR readiness preferred or required within 30 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas as requested.
• Assist clinical staff in transferring patients between beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Greet and assist hospital customers throughout the facility.
• Deliver specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment to designated locations.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are currently recruiting for a Transporter to join our team! As our Transporter, you will be responsible for greeting and transporting patients to and from all major ancillary departments using proper safety techniques and mode of transportation. We are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What you will do in this role:

• You will transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas as requested.
• You will assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
• You will greet and assist customers throughout the hospital.
• You will collect and deliver specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment to appropriate destinations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of related experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
• Current BLS through the American Heart Association is required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
