Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a PRN transporter for day shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) with rotating weekends. You will move equipment, assist with patient transfers, and transport patient belongings and documents efficiently within the facility.

The role requires strong English communication, customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. CPR/BLS certification is required; driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year public contact in a medical setting.
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) required
• Driver's License preferred

Job Description:

PRN (as needed) - Day shift 7AM – 3:30PM or 8AM-4:30PM

Rotating days and weekends depending on call offs/FMLA/terminations.

Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ensures the proper handling and delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Participates in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned. Assists in the safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair. Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs. Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently. Accurately records transport details and reports necessary information using the Transportation system.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ year public contact in a medical setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
