Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Assistant to support nursing staff with patient care tasks and maintain clean, safe patient rooms. You will aid patient movement, assist with daily living activities, and document records accurately.

Role includes Patient Sitter duties as needed and rotating weekends/holidays. Schedule is 36 hours per week, day shift, with a sign-on bonus up to $3,000 for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 1+ applicable PCT/Patient Care Technician experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR required.
• CPCT/A or CNA or EMT certification required (or in progress)
• Strong patient-care and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing staff with patient care tasks.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Aids with movement and placement of patients.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Documents necessary records accurately and timely.
• Monitors and reports patient conditions.
• Ensures proper functioning of medical equipment.
• Communicates with patients, families and healthcare team.
• Follows safety and infection control protocols.
• Participates in training and development activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Will also be assigned Patient Sitter duties as needed.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study

• or GED

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required]OR
