Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Group Lead for Patient Transportation in Orlando, FL. This role directs and coordinates activities of Transportation Services personnel within patient care areas, ensuring efficient patient transport and adherence to standards.

The position requires leadership experience, BLS certification, and strong customer service. You will train staff, monitor performance, and coordinate dispatch and equipment maintenance across the facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months experience as transporter required.
• 1 year leadership experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification required.
• National CPS certification required within 90 days if area requires it.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to standards of behavior and provide excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and support mission, vision and values.
• Communicate effectively with staff and patients, and work independently as needed.
• Lead one-on-one coaching using approved techniques and educational materials.
• Train team members in patient communication, scripting, and engagement techniques.
• Perform supervisory duties in the absence of a supervisor and monitor productivity and response times.
• Dispatch and coordinate transport tracking, communicating with patient care providers.
• Conduct audits on safety, quality, and productivity for transportation staff.
• Maintain and repair wheelchairs; keep records of maintenance.
• Deliver/pick up equipment, clean and re-tag, and coordinate replenishment.
• Maintain equipment inventory and repair records; assist in equipment replacement.
• Suggest improvements to services and interdepartmental processes.
• Replenish oxygen tanks as required and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to Code Red alerts and participate in Hospital Incident Command System.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure resources are available and accessible.
• Attend staff meetings, Gemba, and huddles to align on goals.
• Provide safe transport for patients and equipment across the facility.
