Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of government-owned vehicles including wheelchair accessible vans, passenger vans, buses, and stretcher transport vehicles.
• Ensures safe operation of vehicles and assists passengers with mobility as needed.
• Conducts scheduled and unscheduled transportation assignments between VA facilities and other destinations.
• Coordinates routes and schedules with dispatchers and supervisory staff to maintain timeliness.
• Monitors traffic, weather, and road conditions to select safe travel paths and comply with schedules.
• Uses MDCs, GPS, and radio devices to receive trips, track routes, and communicate with transportation staff.
