Job summary

Corewell Health in Troy, AL is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients to and from examinations and treatments, assist with transfers, and support routine duties while adhering to safety and infection control policies.

You will work an evening shift (3:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.), full-time (40 hours/week) with every other weekend, collaborating with nurses and medical staff to ensure timely, safe care and patient comfort. A high school diploma and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of on-the-job training within three months.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Able to follow safe lifting and transport techniques.
• Understand HIPAA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from testing, procedures, and treatment areas using wheelchairs, gurneys, or beds.
• Assist patients in and out of vehicles and beds; support transfers as needed.
• Prepare patients for transport and verify proper identification.
• Ensure safe and timely transport of patients and equipment between units.
• Communicate with medical staff to coordinate delivery of supplies and medications.
• Assist with patient discharge and basic toileting support.
• Clean and disinfect equipment; maintain clean work areas.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required safety competencies.
