Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from treatment areas, including expired patients to the hospital morgue.
• Records accurate patient information on log sheets provided by initiating department.
• Secures equipment necessary for movement of patients, ensuring the equipment is clean and in good working order.
• Assists patient care staff in transferring patients from beds to stretchers, wheelchairs or other approved means of conveyance.
• Fills liquid oxygen tanks consistently at beginning of workday and uses as required or needed.
• Acts in a courteous and caring manner toward all patients, guests, visitors, families, students, and staff. Serves as an ambassador of goodwill for the hospital, treating everyone with respect.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
