Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Patient Transport employee to safely move staff, patients, and visitors within the medical district and surrounding areas. Duties include operating and inspecting vehicles, assisting patients, and coordinating with dispatch for daily routes.

Minimum experience includes at least one year in vehicle operation or related work; a valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 15 lbs are required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• One year experience operating or maintaining heavy equipment or machinery related to the role.
• Valid driver’s license and/or commercial driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. and perform physical tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Transport staff, patients, students, and employees safely within the assigned area.
• Fuel, clean, and inspect the vehicle pre/post shift and as needed.
• Transport patients requiring special assistance, including wheelchairs with the Q-Straint system.
• Coordinate with dispatchers to receive and complete daily assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
