Job summary

Aramark at Swedish Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Transport Worker to move patients, belongings, records, and supplies across the facility to support patient care. Training is required for two weeks, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm on hire. The role is part-time with rotating weekends and holidays, located at Swedish Hospital, Chicago, IL.

Pay starts at $17.50 per hour plus shift/weekend pay. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be fluent in English, and able to stay

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and work under time constraints.
Flexible and responsive to change.

Responsibilities

Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers.
Safely transports patients and their belongings, medical records, specimens and equipment to various areas of the institution to facilitate patient care.
Transports patients with traction, IVs, drainage apparatus, oxygen and other encumbrances in a safe manner.
Uses electronic devices to manage calls; notifies dispatcher of status and follows instructions.
Verifies patient identity before transport and assists patients in and out of vehicles as needed.
Transports decedent bodies to the morgue and completes required documentation.
