Job summary

Qualifications

• Position prefers a high school diploma or GED and fluent English.
• Ability to stay calm in less than calm circumstances.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Must be flexible and responsive to change.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers.
• Responsive to customer needs.
• Safely transports patients and belongings, medical records, specimens and equipment to different areas to support patient care.
• Safely moves patients with traction, IVs, drainage apparatus and other encumbrances.
• Uses electronic devices or computers on all calls and notifies dispatcher of status.
• Verifies patient identity before transport.
• Assists patients into and out of vehicles at entrances.
• Keeps patient information confidential.
• Transports decedent bodies to the morgue as required.
• Follows OSHA and other regulations to ensure a safe workplace.
• Maintains records to comply with policies and law.
