Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher using safety measures.
• Uses proper body mechanics during transfers and ambulation.
• Uses Safe Patient Handling equipment (e.g., Hovermat, Hoverjack) when needed.
• Transports patients for internal tests and discharged patients to exit.
• Communicates patient and unit information to the RN and care team promptly.
• Seeks help from the RN when needed and informs Dispatcher or Supervisor if challenges arise.
• Stays with the patient until relieved by another healthcare professional.
• Accepts assignments and works as part of a team.
• Verifies patient ID, introduces self, and explains procedures to patient/family.
• Uses telephone etiquette in communications.
• Develops knowledge through practice, observation, and required trainings.
• Promotes best practices and quality patient care; supports organizational programs.
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor for new employees and accepts constructive feedback.
