Job summary

Advocate Health in Georgia seeks a dedicated Patient Transport teammate to move patients, beds and equipment across Navicent Health Medical Center. The role involves ensuring safe patient transfers, accurate system updates, and collaboration with clinicians to support timely care.

This full-time on-site position requires a High School diploma or GED, BLS certification within 3 months, and prior patient-facing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Provider within 3 months of hire.
• Prior experience taking care of patients or dealing with the public.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely using lift equipment and shifting beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Register transport requests and complete transport in the system with appropriate details.
• Assist with patient positioning for procedures and during transport across hospital locations.
• Transport bodies to the morgue and escort funeral directors per procedures.
• Clean equipment per department procedures and report damaged gear for repair.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team; log information accurately.
