Independence Health System seeks a Patient Transporter to provide timely, safe in-hospital transport for designated inpatients and occasional outpatients. Expect to coordinate with nurses, technicians, and supervisors, and to handle equipment, isolation procedures, and daily transport logs while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include assessing transport needs, selecting the safest mode of transport, and ensuring proper PPE when required.

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Introduce self to patient and explain transport plan.
• Provide transportation considering patient safety and comfort.
• Transfer patient using wheelchair, cart, or transport vehicle per procedure.
• Identify patient prior to transport and confirm ID.
• Coordinate transport with nursing staff and departments.
• Maintain equipment and report broken items as needed.
• Assist in coordinating patient trips and transfers between departments.
