Job summary

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Minnesota seeks a dedicated Transportation Clerk who will manage safe, efficient transport for patients, staff, visitors and professionals. You will provide primary coverage at the Transportation desk and coordinate patient movement for arrivals and discharges.

You’ll communicate needs with clinical teams and coordinate with MyAvatar for orders, including emergency runs.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Experience in transportation department operations.
• Current Driver’s License in good standing.
• Favorable Driver Health Screen.
• CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Defensive Driving certification (every 2 years).
• 65+ employees must provide annual physician’s statements confirming ability to drive.
• Competency with MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Preferred: Class B license.
• Preferred: Vocational or Technical Training.

Responsibilities

• Weekdays with potential to work some weekends.
• Provide safe, efficient transportation for clients, visitors, professionals and staff.
• Provide primary office coverage at the Transportation desk.
• Coordinate patient transportation needs for arrivals, discharges, and special circumstances.
• Communicate patient transportation needs with clinical staff.
• Check transportation orders in MyAvatar and coordinate coverage.
• Provide scheduled, non-scheduled, and emergency transportation to patients, clients, staff, workshop participants, and visitors.
• Drive safely and professionally at all times.
• Assess situations involving Hazelden clients to ensure safe transport.
• Coordinate and implement patient vehicle searches when requested with Department Lead or Manager.
• Transport medical and related materials.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance with vendors and departments.
• Maintain department documentation per procedures.
• Provide backup administrative coverage.
