Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is hiring a Transporter to support patient movement within the hospital system. You will escort patients, aid clinical staff with transfers, and ensure accurate transport tracking via the hospital’s phone system.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma/GED, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task. BLS is required upon hire; CNA is preferred. This full-time role involves day shifts with potential holiday/weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• BLS certification (PA) required upon hire; CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from hospital departments for radiology testing.
• Assists in transport of patients eligible for discharge.
• Uses the hospital telephone system to track transport orders.
• Assists nurses and technologists in moving patients between bed, stretcher, and wheelchair.
• Provides directional information to guests and patients' families; locates patients.
• Helps patients change clothes as requested.
• Retrieves, cleans, and stores unused transport equipment.
• Replaces oxygen tanks as required.
