Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients to and from the facility safely, maintaining observation and interacting with patients while ensuring safety at all times.

The role requires adherence to traffic laws, accurate van logging, and collaboration with the Outpatient Manager and staff to support patient care. Flexibility for hours and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current medical examination.
• Must be 21+ years old with good driving record.
• Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation training within 90 days of employment; CPR training provided in-house.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for patients to and from the facility in a safe manner.
• Obey all traffic laws while driving company vehicles.
• Report van maintenance problems to Transportation Supervisor and Outpatient Manager.
• Maintain the van log with updated addresses and phone numbers.
• Communicate with Outpatient Manager and staff regarding patient care issues.
• Provide lunch for patients as assigned by staff.
• Maintain a clean environment for patients at all times.
• Demonstrate responsibility and sound judgment for patient safety.
• Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries at all times.
• Address patients, visitors, and coworkers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
• Adhere to facility, department, policies and procedures.
• Attend mandatory in-services and staff development activities.
• Adhere to conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality standards.
• Support quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
• Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
