Job summary

Concord Hospital seeks a Transporter to provide direct basic patient care and transportation for a group of patients under RN guidance. You assess mobility, verify the correct mode of transport, and assist with bed to stretcher or wheelchair while managing oxygen, Foley bags and IV pumps in transit.

You also transport equipment, records, specimens, and meals, and serve as a fill-in dispatcher. Strong critical thinking, teamwork and time management are essential for safe, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with patients and as part of a multi-disciplinary team preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to in-transit patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to nursing and transports patients to designated areas of the hospital.
• Transports medical equipment, records, specimens, meals and materials; maintains privacy and equipment conformance.
• Dispatches resources using the dispatch database and demonstrates critical thinking to meet patient care needs.
