Qualifications

• Good communication to alleviate patient fears and anxiety.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients in wheelchairs or on stretchers, ensuring safe handling to prevent falls.
• Move patients to and from units or imaging modalities within expected timeframes; carry patient charts.
• Maintain open communication with Dispatch/Modality/Unit about task status and delays.
• Handle patient support equipment safely; remove unsafe/unclean equipment; exchange oxygen tanks.
• Obtain supplies from central service as requested when applicable.
• Follow isolation and PPE protocols; wash hands and follow safety procedures.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and respect patient privacy.
• Follow proper protocol for patient expirations as applicable.
