Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Transportation Associate at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA to support patient movement and related duties in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes safe, timely transport and coordination with care teams.

Hours are 20 per week, 3:30pm–7:30pm, Monday–Friday with every other holiday required. A high school diploma is required; BLS certification is preferred; strong communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely to destinations and assists with required equipment.
• Assists patient care staff and uses proper body mechanics for transfers.
• Notifies staff on arrival, verifies patient identity and communicates any concerns.
• Maintains transport equipment and reports malfunctions or safety issues.
• Follows infection control policies and safe operating procedures.
• Participates in daily rounds and orientation/training for transport associates.
