Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely to their destination and brings requested equipment.
• Assists patient care staff and uses proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring patients.
• Notifies nursing staff upon arrival and verifies patient identification; alerts if distress or equipment issue occurs.
• Completes transport quickly and notifies staff when assignments are started and finished; meets performance standards.
• Disinfects transport equipment before and after use and returns equipment to proper locations.
