Trinity Health MI is seeking a Patient Support Technician for the Trinity Health Oakland Campus in Michigan. This full-time, day-shift role operates within the Nursing Resource Pool to deliver direct patient care and coordinate unit activities under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The position emphasizes Relationship-Based Care, with responsibilities including bedside care, ADLs, basic nutrition support, and collaboration with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months direct patient care experience within past 5 years preferred.
• Completion of one Medical/Surgical clinical rotation in a nursing program.
• Completion of a Patient Care Technician program with externship in an acute care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic bedside care and selected procedures under RN supervision, including venipuncture, EKG, glucose monitoring, respiratory care, dressing changes, vital signs, and recognizing life-threatening conditions.
• Performs activities of daily living suited to the patient’s condition under RN supervision.
• Provides basic nutritional support, including bed setup, feeding assistance, and tracking intake/calorie counts.
• Performs other duties as assigned, which may vary by unit, patient type, and care needs.
