Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland Campus in Michigan is seeking a Part-time Patient Support Technician to join the Pre Admission Testing department. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, performing bedside care and coordinating unit activities to support patient flow.

Shifts available 7:00 am–7:00 pm and 7:00 pm–7:00 am; part-time status requires every other weekend and 3 holidays per year. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with completion of specified PCT training or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months direct patient care experience within past 5 years preferred.
• Completion of one Medical/Surgical clinical rotation in a nursing program.
• Completion of a Patient Care Technician program with externship in an acute care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic bedside care under RN supervision, including venipuncture, 12-lead EKG, basic blood glucose collection and monitoring, respiratory care, dressing changes, vital signs, and reporting life-threatening conditions.
• Performs activities of daily living (ADL) under RN direction.
• Provides basic nutritional support such as bed setup, feeding assistance, and intake/calorie documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned, varying by unit and patient needs, including nonclinical tasks to support the care team.
• Supports the care team with additional duties as needed.
