The position supports scheduling and data entry within EMR systems. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in healthcare registration or customer service, with knowledge of health insurance and medical terminology.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze patient demographics and referrals to verify benefits and eligibility.
• Obtain pre-certifications and support timely reimbursement; perform pre-certification notifications.
• Research pre-certification denials and missing documents; verify referral requirements.
• Coordinate referrals with physicians and offices; obtain additional referrals as needed.
• Utilize EMR task queues to meet productivity metrics in Rehab Services.
• Assist with scheduling and data entry to support patient access and experience.

Hourly Pay Range:$18.76 - $27.20 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Position Highlights:Position: Patient Support Representative – Outpatient Rehab – Per DiemLocation: Lincolnshire, ILFull Time/Part Time/Per Diem: Per Diem (as needed)Hours: Rotating shifts; clinic is open Mon.-Thurs. 7 a.m. – 7pm, Fri. 7am-5pm.Will rotate into varied start and end times: 7am-3:30pm, 10:30am-7pm, 9am-5:30pm; will rotate at least 2 evenings until 7pmSchedule: Varies as needed per 6-week scheduleRequired Travel: NoWhat you will do:Reviews and analyzes required patient demographic and consults representatives, providers, and insurance carriers to verify benefits, determine eligibility, obtain pre-certifications, and support timely reimbursement.Performs pre-certification notification via telephone or electronically and completes required documentation for submission to insurance carriers per payer requirements.Researches pre-certification denials including missing authorization, patient pre-certification or referral documentation.Confirms referral requirements for individual plans and works with referring physician offices when needed to obtain referrals for scheduled services, including referrals for additional office visits.Utilizes the electronic medical record task-based work queue to maintain established productivity metrics determined by the Rehab Services department to meet business needs.What you will need:Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.Experience: 1–2 years of healthcare registration, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred.Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of health insurance, medical terminology, and anatomy preferred.
