This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), any day of the week. Employees must work one of our 8-hour shifts during business hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm PST. The department operates 24/7. Occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

We offer 6 weeks of paid on-the-job training from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm PST.

If you are within the Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones, you can work remotely while taking on challenging tasks.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Meet performance goals in patient satisfaction, accuracy, quality, and attendance.
  • Adhere to department standards and metrics, evaluated daily.
  • Exhibit behaviors demonstrating superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern.
  • Multi-task using double monitors for data entry, phone etiquette, and resource utilization.
  • Provide services involving complex and sensitive information, acting as a patient advocate.
  • Assist colleagues with paperwork and patient issue resolution.
  • Recognize financial, medical, and legal risks, following appropriate procedures.
  • Utilize Optum systems to resolve customer needs related to appointments, claims, benefits, etc.
  • Translate oral information into concise written documentation.
  • Assist members with PCP choices and general medical group information.
  • Page clinicians and assist Telehealth Nurses as needed.
  • Enter PCP changes and process paperwork accordingly.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and navigating multiple chat channels
  • Typing speed of 40+ WPM
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) on any shift within business hours, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 1 year of healthcare setting experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience working remotely and with multiple screens
Telecommuting Requirements
  • Reside in Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones
  • Secure a dedicated, private work area
  • Have reliable high-speed internet
  • Adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy

Hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $28.85, depending on experience and other factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
