Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to manage front-desk reception, patient registration and unit workflow under the supervision of the Manager and Charge Nurse. The role requires strong customer service, clear communication and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy hospital setting.

Shift is five 8-hour shifts, 2pm–10:30pm, with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to assess situations requiring an interpreter and use interpreter services.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs unit-based reception, clerical, medical record and patient registration functions.
• Sets priorities and handles emergency situations calmly.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Manages overall unit workflow with the charge RN and/or manager.
• Coordinates with Nurse Manager for patient care needs.
