Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is seeking a Patient Service Representative to deliver professional customer service, manage scheduling, pre-registration, and insurance verification to ensure smooth Rehab Outpatient visits. The role supports billing and clerical duties while coordinating referrals and collecting payments.

Located at 35 Talcottville Rd, Vernon, this on-site position emphasizes accurate patient data, timely follow-up, and adherence to Rehab procedures and history

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates' or Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or business field preferred.
• 1-2 years in medical or healthcare office; knowledge of healthcare terminology, insurance authorization, and benefits.
• Proficiency in healthcare terminology and billing practices, experience with obtaining authorization and benefits.
• Bilingual (highly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet and register arriving patients, complete registration forms and verify insurance.
• Answer incoming calls, evaluate priority, and direct calls according to urgency and subject matter.
• Provide information to new patients prior to visit in accordance with department policies, and enter/update patient demographics.
• Collect co-payments and office charges as needed and explain office payment billing policies to patients.
• Schedule new patient appointments, follow-up appointments, and inform patients of essential preparation requirements prior to visit (referrals, medical reports, etc.).
